Question: My SkyCaddie will not charge. What do I check?
Answer:
We have seen some instances where the charger needs to be reset. To reset the charger, please follow the instructions below.
- Turn on your SkyCaddie and select a course and hole for play
- Plug the A/C wall charger into the SG2 and a wall outlet
- Verify that the battery icon has changed to a lightening bolt
- If it has not, leave the charger in the SkyCaddie, unplug it from the outlet, wait a second and plug it back in to see if the lightening bolt appears (Please note that if your battery is fully charged the battery icon will not change)
It is always best to make sure you have this visual indication that your SkyCaddie is charging before you turn the unit off. Sometimes if the unit is off when it is plugged into the outlet, the charge circuit does not initialize and the battery does not charge. If the battery does not charge using the steps above, try charging the SkyCaddie while connected to the PC. The computer needs to remain on while charging. If the battery charges using this method then the problem is the charger. If not, the problem is either the battery or the device itself.
