Q: Can the SkyCaddie give me the distance to the pin?
Answer: According to professional golfers, the distance to the pin is the least important part of what a golfer needs to play a smart shot to the green. The SkyCaddie, using the IntelliGreen graphics found on our professionally recorded SkyCourses, provides more information than just the distance to the pin. Once the line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, it provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club. You will hit more greens and have shorter putts than a single number can provide.
Q: How can I see more than front, center and back of the green on the SkyCaddie?
Answer: You will need to download a 4-star or 3-star professional SkyCourse to your SkyCaddie. These SkyCourses are available through a SkyPlayer Club Membership plan.
Q: Can I create my own green outlines (IntelliGreen) using the SkyCaddie?
Answer: No. You can record the front, center, and back of greens using your SkyCaddie, but only our professional enablers can map the outline of the green as seen in the IntelliGreen feature.
Q: Can the SkyCaddie track my scores and provide statistics on my round?
Answer: No. The SkyCaddie has been simplified to provide you with important distance information you need to play your best golf.
Q: Why do my distances seem incorrect?
Answer: You may have your SkyCaddie distance information setup incorrectly.

To change the distance information between meters, yards, and miles, please do the following:
  1. Open any course for play and press Hole #1.
  2. Press "Menu".
  3. Scroll to "Preferences" and press Select.
  4. Press Select on "Yards/Meters".
  5. Select the desired distance measurement by scrolling through the options.
Q: How many SkyCourses can I store in "My SkyCaddie" online account and on my SkyCaddie?
Answer: The number of SkyCourses that you can store is determined by the membership level that you choose.

Membership Level Birdie Eagle Double Eagle
Number of SkyCourses 10 10 10
Number of Playlists 5 10 10

Q: How do I charge my battery?
Answer: Your SkyCaddie SG2.5 is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

To charge the battery, simply follow the steps below:
  1. Gently pull back the rubber cover to gain access to the mini-USB port located at the bottom of the SkyCaddie. Insert the mini-USB connector of the supplied wall charger into the mini-USB slot.
  2. Plug the wall charger into the AC wall outlet. While charging, the charging indicator in the upper left-hand side of the SkyCaddie will show red. The charging indicator will switch to green when fully charged. You may also notice the unit's screen turn on and off periodically.
The battery will charge, even with the SkyCaddie turned off. A full battery charge may take 4 hours. Once fully charged, expect 36 holes of continuous play.

Warning! Always connect the cable to the SkyCaddie first before connecting to AC power or PC USB.

Q: Where can I purchase an additional SkyCaddie AC Wall Charger?
Answer: The SkyCaddie 110V -120V AC wall charger comes in the retail packaging with the SkyCaddie. You may purchase a new charger through the SkyGolf website as a replacement or to have an additional charger available when needed. Click here for more information. (Link to: SG2.5 Accessories page)
Q: How can I identify my SkyCaddie charger?
Answer: Should you mix up your SkyCaddie wall charger with other chargers, you can identify the charger by its label. The SG2.5 charger is labeled with the GlobeTec brand name.

Warning! Only use the authorized SkyCaddie SG2.5 wall adapter for charging the SG2.5. Use of a non-authorized wall adapter can severely damage the SkyCaddie.

Q: How do I confirm my SkyCaddie is charging properly?
Answer: Once connected to the wall charger, power on the SkyCaddie. The red LED light will automatically illuminate. In addition, scroll three pages and the battery gauge located at the top of the display will indicate charging with a lighten bolt icon and the battery icon scrolling from low to full. If the red LED light does not come on or the battery gauge does not indicate charging, recheck the cable connections and possibly change the wall plug being used. If cable and charger are connected properly and the SkyCaddie does not charge, you may need to replace the charger or battery.

If your unit will not come on after charging your unit for several hours, please see "Why won't my SkyCaddie charge?" below to check the charging process.
Q: Can I use the SkyCaddie while it is being charged?
Answer: Yes. It is safe to use your SkyCaddie while it is plugged into the 110V -120V AC wall charger. It will operate normally during this time. Remember you will need to be outside to gain a satellite signal.
Q: Why won't my SkyCaddie charge?
Answer: If your SkyCaddie does not seem to be charging correctly, you will need to check the charging process as outlined below. If your unit will not come on after charging your unit for several hours, please see "Why won't my SkyCaddie come on?".

To check the charging process:
  1. Turn on your SkyCaddie.
  2. Select and open a course from the "SkyCourse List".
  3. Notice the battery strength indicator located on top of the screen. The strength is indicated by a battery icon. A full charge is represented by a completely solid battery icon. Anything less means the battery is not fully charged.
  4. Plug the AC wall charger into the charging port located on the bottom of the SkyCaddie.
  5. At this point three items are noticeable to indicate the unit is charging: the red LED light will appear, the "Battery" symbol will begin to "fill up", and a "Lightning Bolt" symbol will appear when the SkyCaddie is accepting the charge.
  6. If all three items do not appear there may be an issue with the charger or the SkyCaddie itself. In such a case, please contact our technical support.
  7. If the symbol does change, but the battery still does not seem to hold a charge, you may need to replace the internal battery. Please contact our technical support.
Q: Can I charge my SkyCaddie inside my car?
Answer: Yes. The optional SkyCaddie 12-volt DC charger allows you to charge your SkyCaddie's lithium-ion battery from any standard cigarette lighter. Click here for more information.
Q: What is the average battery life?
Answer: The SkyCaddie's battery should provide 36 holes of continuous play. If you feel that your SkyCaddie is not giving you this amount of battery life, you may need a replacement battery. Please contact our technical support.
