Since SkyGolf started back in 2001, our Mappers have walked approximately
290,850 miles — a distance that is the equivalent of walking nearly 12 times around the Earth!
Over the years, SkyCaddie imitators have cropped up and have taken shortcuts to grow their course map databases quickly and cheaply. They don’t walk every course using the same survey-grade GPS equipment we do. In fact, their "professional mappers" are nothing of the sort — they never even set foot on a golf course to "map" it! They sit behind a computer monitor all day to process satellite images that are 3-5 years old to create their course maps. They obscure that fact by boasting about not charging annual fees to make their device seem more attractive. The software that runs on your SkyCaddie needs to be updated too. By regularly syncing with our CaddieSync desktop software, your SkyCaddie will download software maintenance updates and the latest map updates for the courses you play.
